3/3 Karma, Reincarnation, and Fate through the Eyes of Wisdom:
Biblical examples of reincarnation

Petar Nikolov: The Divine Breath is something which actually doesn’t evolve, but is brought forth.

Todor Dimitrov: Exactly.

P: So where do they overlap, these needs: for the evolution of consciousness and that great thesis about bringing forth the God within us?

T: That which Christ manifests is Superconsciousness. It is a formula, which nourishes, it becomes manifest. The other one is developed. Human consciousness is developed, the Divine is endured. Superconsciousness is endured. It’s exactly this need which has summoned forth the necessity of the idea of a human being who starts off as an individual and attains Personhood. Let’s turn our attention to the way Christ says it: ‘I and the Father are one!’ (John 10:30). I. So we need that which Mr Tolev calls Human Divinity to endure the other thing, which he calls Divine Humanity: the idea of God for the human being. It’s exactly this which is the great conflict, this gradation, this inner capability of the mental to manifest the spiritual. This is directly proportional to what we call the capacity of the human [to endure the Divine].

[The show’s intro SABOZHNITSI (that is ‘co-deities’): Humanity in Unity]

P: Dear Guests of the Sabozhnitsi Studio, welcome to today’s discussion, which we’ll be conducting with Todor Dimitrov. He is a student of Vaklush Tolev’s, so today in the Culture Nook of the Azbuchnika Bookshop (meaning ‘Alphabetician’, the title of St. Clement of Ohrid, who created the Cyrillic alphabet, based on the work of St. Cyril and St. Methodius, and named it after his teacher Cyril) we’re going to have this discussion on ‘Fate and Karma, what are they?’ (Part 3 of 3)

T: When I examine these things, it’s here that there lies an interesting idea of his – that which we asked а short while ago: can fate be annihilated, can karma be got rid of? Look at what an interesting aspect of it he views. Kundalini, he says, the human Spirit, let’s label it like that, the Divine Breath instilled in the human being (let’s not vex those who are strict adherents of church dogma), ‘The Divine Breath is capable in just an instant of burning up all your karma.’ But there is a slight clarification. ‘Оn the other hand though, you certainly have to be able to endure it when it passes through you, so that if some small jot of karma has remained, it can get rid of it.’ (Nur magazine 1/2013)

Yes, without question at some point the Divine Breath passes, it can cleanse everything. Look at this reciprocity – for you to be prepared, for you to be cleansed, so that it may pass through you without destroying. Because however non-consuming it is, there are many films, documentary ones, which show these self-immolations and burnings, which are functions of (I’m not sure due to what or in what manner) the calling forth of a spirituality which annihilates that which contains it at that moment. These are facts, they have been recorded and there are even those who misuse them, and this is precisely a reaction obviously of some kind of incompatibility between cultivated imagery and what we call spirituality, the Divine Breath within the human being.

P: So karma is necessary, to be able to make the person suitable, to develop within him a capacity for endurance so that a higher energy can live within him – what we call Divine Breath?

T: It’s exactly the way you put it: karma prepares the human being to receive a higher form of thought and to reach the point where, by freeing oneself of it to become a Co-Creator even, something greater than the merely mental. To utilise your thought process in a creative process of Co-Creatorship.

P: So here we are now talking of a person’s destiny, destiny in the sense of Co-Creatorship?

T: Absolutely.

P: Fine, but in that sense then what about what we know of Buddhism – the idea of Nirvana or Heaven and Hell? I mean where does the human being stand in terms of destiny and the future?

T: Buddha puts things in a very interesting way. Buddha does not achieve Resurrection and wholeness though. Let’s keep separate the states of some kind of creative dynamism, as they call it, which are unverifiable, because when Christ was resurrected it was seen by people. Who is able to verify Nirvana? Nirvana is an assertion. Has anybody else been in Nirvana? Yes, there are some who’ve fallen into a state of samadhi, but the goal is not to keep your corpse here and for you to be gone. Because this is what we’re talking about, isn’t it – the goal is for you to spiritualise material, to be able to let The Breath not destroy the flesh when it enters this world, when it comes to know Itself and when it actualises Its self-creating ideas, as Mr Tolev calls them. There is something internally unspecified, the fact that when you want to achieve something, you have to sacrifice something. It’s right here that the first thing which you sacrifice is your viewpoint. When it is primitive and elementary, it blocks. ‘I humbled Myself to death’, that’s unique… (Philippians 2:8) You can imagine what kind of mental mastery this is. The thought of not flinching even before the most terrible thing of all that we have, the exiting of this world, which stays this way in our consciousness, because in this transformation we lose consciousness. For you to have mastered things to such an extent that you don’t budge from that, because what he says with all the aphorisms he’s put down, is nothing more than an utterly mastered mind readied in the race for revelation. To bear revelation. Because if the intuition budges in its judgements about good and evil and enters into the human in the human being, one can never have the Revelation. For the simple reason that they will bring it down to human concepts, which won’t be revelatory mysteries. That’s exactly why Christ, tested on Golgotha, having passed through the grave, gives the Revelation. That’s when He gives it.

P: So the idea of humility in the final analysis is a step towards the mastery of karma, supremacy over karma?

T: It is literally supremacy demonstrated, karma controlled, if it can be put like that. It’s simply karma employed in the creative intentions of the human being. It no longer frightens, it doesn’t limit.

P: So it provides the opportunity for that Divine Breath, for the Divinity in question, to be brought forth through the idea of humility.

T: Absolutely. To be demonstrated for real. Because when we are talking of the process of Co-Creatorship, some people are disturbed. Wait, I’m not saying that we are going to take part in the making of planets right away, but someone like Plotinus claims this in his doctrine: ‘It is good for you to be virtuous, it is good for you to be God’s Son, it’s good for you to be God, but it is best for you to be a Father of gods.’ (Plotinus, the Enneads). This person does not have projections, he literally has no dimensions in his thoughts. There is no limit, I mean to say. Can karma limit this guy? Well, it might impose something on him, but it’s not going to be a problem for him.

P: Could you clarify a little what ‘revelation’ is? Because this concept seems not to be very well-known to the wider public.

T: Revelation is actually what Christ gives to John and which is simply a vision of planetary evolution clothed in very strange symbols, which everyone interprets the way he likes. Why dоes all of the world fall into line and try to explain it? All of human mental activity, worried by its idea of fatedness seeks projections in the Revelation, because it is brought to us by the only Risen One. It is a hierarchy, the highest planetary potential for knowledge: revelation. A new stage of human knowledge which is indisputable.

P: In the final analysis this karma, this fate is necessary in order to lead forth the human being into spiritual activeness, to free one from spiritual passivity and perhaps to become aware of what is called evil, the fact that actually there is an inability to endure certain energies, which, since we don’t know them, we define as something…

T: This by the way is my favourite, the thing that most gnaws away at me inside, because it is so beautiful: ‘Love your enemy.’ (Matthew 5:44) Why? Because he stimulates you with the idea that you grow. If it wasn’t for him, what would you do? That’s why Mr Tolev changed things with this concept: sabozhnik (co-deity). Because when you give him the general name ‘enemy’, the term ‘enemy’, you already have an emotional orientation, that you’re pretty much done with this person, that you’ve exhausted the parameters of your communication with him. But when you have the idea that in him there is a God just like in you and that you’re within different conscious notions of His manifestation, then the conflict too is inevitable (with the idea of evolution though, not quarrelling), then things are in the right place too, then you understand why you have to love him and all of these great things. And why there is no suffering. Look at how Apostle Paul tried to interpret it: ‘He whom God loves, he punishes him and tests him.’ (Hebrews 12:6) Look how he forces us to seek this thing, without bearing any negativity. Look how a purely human interpretation has such a fine sensibility about things. As James the Apostle (note: Jacob in Orthodox Chrisitianity) says: ‘God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone.’ (James 1:13) Since he doesn’t tempt anyone, what is the sense of judging someone? Because what the human being does in terms of a reaction, let’s not reproach God for being some kind of malеvolent law-giver, because in Jewish culture, he is malevolent and vengeful. I’d like us to think a little about whether we are talking of the same one, when Christ gives a description of Him, that God is Love and He loves all of his creations. Is there anything in common? Malevolent and vengeful, seeking victims… Does Christ ask for sacrificial victims anywhere? Does he get rid of all these things? Look how the human being’s notion of God differs in the different Spiritual Waves. That’s why Apostle Paul will say something very interesting: ‘Since there is a new covenant, he declares the old one outdated. Everything which ages is liable to disappear.’ (Hebrews 8:13) When you ask someone about Christian virtues, everyone starts off with the Ten Commandments. But He, Christ, does not say to them ‘Don’t steal’, He says ‘If you have two shirts…’ These are not commandments, these are wishes and you may find them in the Sermon on the Mount, where they are called blessings, not commandments. (Matthew 5) There things don’t have the character of an imperative, but of a wish, for the simple reason that there is conscience which whispers something to you, and you take the decision as to what to do.

P: Since we’re moving towards a finale, and our topic is Karma-Reincarnation-Fate, it seems like we haven’t dealt with reincarnation properly…

T: If there is no reincarnation, that means someone comes and at the third hour… there are many cases when children pass away, well then aren’t they going to test the person? He’s just going to enter Heaven? I can even tell you what mind-boggling conclusions can be reached. About someone like Herod it’s claimed that he killed 14,000 children whilst searching for Christ. I mean he’s a machine for salvation, what kind of negation are we looking for connected to him? He guarantees it for them, while if they had stayed here most of them would have been sure to commit sins and to have unpleasant things happen to them. Look how inconclusive things are. What is the purpose of reincarnation? Well, is what I asked a little while ago possible, for you to give a primitive type the idea of Christ? Is it possible? Well, isn’t it [reincarnation] essential then? There is a categorical biblical example which roams around in the Old and New Testament in the form of an exceptional image.

‘And if you are willing to accept it, John himself is Elijah [who was to come].’ (Matthew 11:14) Not ‘maybe’, not ‘Who knows?’ Well, how does John get to become Elijah? The one God bears him up to the Heavens, but for you to come into this world, and this is exceptionally valid for Christ too, you have to be born. That’s why they don’t call it ‘reflight’, they call it ‘rebirth’. This is an exceptional need, especially of the evolutionary dynamic in the spiritualisation of material. You can’t just come for two hours and… As I’ve asked many people: do you think that God is to blame for the fact that one person is Vasil Levski and another person is a perfectly mediocre personality? Here you are, I’ll read to you what Malachi 4:5 says and what they ask about in the New Testament: ‘See, I will send the prophet Elijah to you before [that great and dreadful day of the Lord] comes.’ Pay attention to how pure it is: ‘I will send’. Yes, he sent him and Christ says ‘John is Elijah, whoever can accept it, let him accept it.’ It’s unfolded in aspects like this in the Gospels! When they climb up [Mount Tabor] and He demonstrates the Transfiguration, He speaks to Moses and Elijah, there we have something utterly illogical. Christ does not explain, He doesn’t say to anyone who these people are, the Apostles decide that these are Moses and Elijah. Whilst descending, they ask him: ‘[Teacher,] Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must come before [you, i.e. before the Messiah] Why was he up there?’ (Matthew 17:10) They ask Him this, and Christ answers: ‘Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but have done to him everything they wished to. In the same way the Son of Man is going to suffer at their hands.’ Then categorically: ‘Then the disciples understood that He was talking to them about John the Baptist.’ (Matthew 17:12-13) So of these two who had been up there [on top of Mount Tabor], at least one of them was not Elijah. Because they knew John very well, he had been beheaded a short time before this. How well things are put in their place!

P: Who was he?

T: As Mr Tolev states, there have been two comings of Christ previously [Hermes and Krishna], because since He is the firstborn amongst many brothers, since He perfects himself through suffering, since He is the most dynamic [spirituality] of all, why do they take away from Him the real possibility, amidst his magnificent unfolding, of having experiencing his own reincarnations? ‘Whoever can accept it, let him accept it.’ Christ does not say, ‘Do you know that John is Elijah!?’ He knows that a Judaic-Hebrew psyche will have difficulty in accepting such a thesis. How well it is said: ‘go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah.’ (Luke 1:15-17) Because it’s not Elijah who is reborn, the spirit is dressed in new clothes called ‘John’; a new personal manifestation, called ‘John’. Just look at what kind of question the Apostles pose to Jesus when they go in beside the sick man: ‘Teacher, by whose sin, his or of his parents, was he born blind?’ (John 9:2) See what a question: ‘his – was he born’. When did he sin?

P: An interesting question, one which suggests another from me. The whole of the East professes reincarnation, i.e. the civilised western world rejects it. Well why, since it seems so natural and necessary for development?

T: Without a doubt there is nothing accidental in this world, but what is the most interesting thing in this case? Can you imagine, with all the intensity of human pretension and delusions of grandeur, us having an idea of reincarnation? There would have been unimaginable chaos. Everyone would have been Peter or Paul reborn, there would be a madhouse of apostles, especially those who regard themselves as great men of religion. It’s no laughing matter, that’s an absolutely well-founded reason. Everyone who bore some awareness of it would seek it. There would be whole institutions to decide about it.

P: Awful, I hadn’t thought about that.

T: Fortune tellers wouldn’t deal with clairvoyance, but with who you have been. I mean you can even dispute an inheritance. ‘But do you know that I was Khan Such-and-such, so just you give me back here that gold and stuff, because they’re mine!’ These things are really interesting. Just look at what sensitivity it requires, Mr Tolev has always maintained this about when the great things become public knowledge. They are always transmitted in such a considered way, so that they don’t produce ‘madness’ – in quote marks – in a person.

P: Fantastic, thank you!

T: Thank you too!
